History

The concept of Russell's was started by Russell C. Gullo, the father of the current owner, in the summer of 1980. The company started in his back yard on Miland Road in Clarence and the Clinton Bailey market under the name of Russell's Shrub and Tree Farm. In 1989, Russell J. Gullo, the current owner of Russell's, continued the business in the memory of his late father. In the early years Russell's operated with one employee and some help from family members. Through better customer service and a personal touch not being delivered by other nurseries, Russell's began to grow.

In 1994, Russell began to look toward the future and began to expand south towards Dodge Road. In the spring of 1996, our current office building was completed and the business had the space to properly operate. In 1997, expansion was again on the horizon and the current Tree section was developed to allow for a larger variety of plant material. In 2007, Russell's began an alliance with The American Cancer Society to join in the fight toward the cure for cancer. Russell's also launched the original We Plan, You Plant design service to provide our customers a free design program to help them establish the garden of their dreams.

Russell's Tree & Shrub Farm LLC (Russell's) was started by a man with a vision of competitively priced plant material and a desire to provide service that people deserved. Come visit our garden center and see what everyone who has been here is talking about.
